Big Men Cry Themselves To Ash

This piece came about after imagining a crossover of certain features from the first 2 songs (Lower Your Expectations and Cry Yourself To Ash respectively) off of the UK technical math-grind band Oblivionized's aptly titled full-length Life Is A Struggle, Give Up.

The despairing centrepiece in the ashtray was visually based off of the iconic Weeping Buddha statue, which I actually first saw on the cover art of the album Big Men Cry by UK ambient-trance act Banco De Gaia (one of the many, and tastefully varied artists that were part of my Dad's record collection growing up) and I just happened to have been reminded of that figure when I read out Cry Yourself To Ash in my mind.
The rest of the piece is more-or-less an adaptation of a line from the words to Lower Your Expectations* and the colour scheme was both inspired by the cover art of Life Is A Struggle, Give Up and this Robert Crumb cartoon which can be seen/bought on postcards.

Election Day well spent, huh?
